In terms of looks his facial feature are still boyish and he probably has some African blood in him as his nose is fairly flat and shows some promise of being hawk like when the baby fat disappairs. His jaw is square and the cheekbones beginning to emerge are quite angular. HIs lips are full and a little wider then somebody with Northern blood. His eyes are quite deep set and are a pale grey-green. HIs skin tone is quite dark and has rich golden tones to it. HIs hair is very short and is a dark chestnut shade with sunstreaks in it.

A fairly quiet and cautious person in terms of strangers he can come across as a bit aloof and cold. But he's just awkward around large groups of people or around people he doesn't know.

Although young he is fairly stubbourn and ambitious when it comes to making choices and sticking to them. It might one day mean that he will beat the odds to be a great Master Smith but he's got a long way to go yet.

Brief History of Persona:

But Gaien was quite a sickly child, born slightly premature and highly accident prone meant that he was always either injured or ill. It meant he tended to be ignored even more and given into the care of one of his older sisters.

SUch a childhood meant that Gaien often got used to amusing himself and he got good at making himself invisible so he could overhear his parents or his elders talking. It meant he developed as quite a mature, independant child and adolescent. Against the odds he also taught himself how to ride, how to fish, how to run fairly long distances. Things he was told by his parents and healers that he shouldn't strain himself to do.

When he was 13 turns old the arguments started on where he would apprentice. Immediatly from the time he was a small child Gaien was fascinated with the smithing craft. Gain was always bugging the local metalsmith up at Coral Reef Hold and watching him as he worked. The pair got to be fairly close friends as a result. He liked the balance of hard labour, science and fine art that went into it. He also liked the respect and high esteem the smiths had in a hold or hall. He also gained an unexpected companion when he was given a flit egg as a birthing day present from his parents which hatched to give him Pax.

But his family and friends were all dead set against it. They even laughed at his choice of craft saying that he'd never make it through a turn let alone all the way to Master as he declared. But ever a determined and stubbourn lad he stuck to his preference even though his parents enrolled him with the weavers.

Miserable he appealed to those around them. In the end his metalsmith friend, his older sister and brother spoke up for him and convinced his parents to let him go. Reluctantly they agreed and allowed him to pull out. Triumphantly he applied as an apprentice to the smith hall at Black Rock Hold and was accepted. Ignoring the sniggers and disapproval all around him. To his surprise his good friend Mally is also going back to the hall to study for his seniour knots.

So far he's lasted a turn and a half, he's even managing to hold his own among the other smith apprentices and he's beginning to impress his teachers. He's happy.
