Brief Description of Persona:


  • GJuliayn is fairly tall for a woman standing at 5'10 and has a willowy, slender build. In other words not much in the breast or hip department just subtle curves and long limbs. But her muscles are quite tonned and she's stronger then she looks from the exercises she does. In terms of her looks she has that kind of delicate, classic beauty. SHe has a heart shaped face with small, perfectly shaped lips, high cheekbones, a small, slender nose and dimples in her cheeks. Her eyes are large and heavy hidded, slightly almond shaped from a possible Asian influence, the iris a solid chocolate brown. Her skin tone is that creamy sort of pale with golden understones from her time spent out doors. Her hair is straight and that kind of glossy blue-black that hints at possible Asian ancestry somewhere in the family tree. She tends to more with a slow, stiff sort of grace thanks to her stiffened limbs she recieved from a childhood illness but it doesn't stop her from doing what she wants. She is never without at least one or two of her daggers or her Rocky her constant shadow. 



  • Juliayn is a lady in the greatest sense of the word. Polite, courteous and soft spoken she tends to listen and give her complete attention to everyone - be they a fellow Lord or LAdy Holder or a lowly kitchen drudge. With a certain quiet courage Juliayn doesn't tend to back down from anything and keeps her promises. She's also very honourable, honest and fair. To her her honesty, personal integrity and her honour are her most important traits. She expects the same out of the people she deals with. She has a certain quiet strength that means she'll do things her way. She is also not afraid to get her hands duty and is usually the first to volunteer to do things. If she has a downside it's that she is quite bitter towards men and has self-confidence issues. People have a tendancy to want to coddle her because she's a lady and due to her slight disability. She hates this because it draws attention to what she hates about herself and what she's feels disappoints herself and others. SHe's also terribly afraid of fires - not surprising given her history. 



    

Brief History of Persona:
    


  •  Lady Juliayn was the youngest born and the only girl born out of four to the Ista Lord Holder and his Lady. Brought up, along with her brothers in a typically pampered, spoiled sort of life Juliayn lacked for nothing. When she was still a young child she caught a mysterious illness that blew through the area. It brought a bad fever, stiffened limbs and difficulty with breathing. The death toll was fairly high the illness took the lives of 20% of the halls population preying particuarly on the young. The illness took the lives of two of her older brothers and her lady mother. The illness also left Juliayn with her lasting weak and stiff limbs. The loss of much of his family, his hold and surrounding areas meant that her father was grief stricken. But being a responsible man he shouldered his responsibilities and carried on. He hired a full time healer to see to Juliayn, as her limbs needed to be massages and exercised on a daily basis. He tended to fuss over here and be over protective considering she was the baby of the family and had suffered so much. Juliayn as much as she respected the treatement and attention she was getting she began to chaff under the restrictions and over protective things going on about her. In desperation she went to her only surviving brother to help her out. Taking pity on her Julas began in secret to teach her knife throwing techniques and special stretching exercises meant to help limber you up. Travelling acrobats and Harper actors tended to use them to keep their bodies fit and limber. Julas had learned them from a friend of his of was a Apprentice Harper actor. Juliayn to her brother's surprise quickly mastered both sets of exercises and proved to have very good aim with her knives. 
    

At 17 as was proper for a Lord's only daughter Juliayn's father arragned a marriage for her to the Igen Lord Holder's eldest son. Juliayn had never met her intended husband but this is a fairly common feature in arranged marriages. At 18 she was finally married and meet her husband, a man nearly twice her age. Her father, ever the over protective, loving father had delayed marrying her off for as long as possible. Juliayn's marriage was something of a shock to her. While she had no illusions about a marriage such as hers she still found it hard when her cold, remote husband took more of an interest in his reading, his study and his records. Egris, barely gave his young Lady wife any attention and three turns later after the birth of a daughter he lost interest in her completly. Bored and lonely Juliayn focused on raising her young daughter and on her duties. But these were limited for she was only married to the heir. The Lord's wife took care of most of the mistresses duties in the hold. Stripped for something to do Juliayn began spending time with their Assistant Steward. Jamal was refershing to the lonely young woman. Candid, open and frank he opened her eyes to what really went on in a hold. Who was really responsible for what and learned to appreciate each and every person from the loweliest drudge to the Lord himself for the jobs they performed. SHe learned how to talk to all these different people in such a way that she came down to their level not the other way around. Inevietibly their friendship eventually grew into an affair and from their into love. 
    

The pair, keeping their relationship secret for adulterous ladies could face some severe penalties if caught. Life carried on until four turns later a fire broke out in the Hold and the resulting damage left half the Hold and it's connecting Seacrafter, Fishcrafter and Dolphineer Halls significally damaged. Luckily thanks to the quick thinking of Juliayn most Hold and Hall residents got out alive. There were some casulaties however among them Juliayn's husband, her lover Jamal and several other members of the hold. The remaining few casualties were the old and young as the fire had been in the middle of the night and many of the hall and hold residents were asleep. Juliayn was devesated at such personal losses. She counted all their losses as personal ones. BUt she was able to save her daughter and shortly after the disaster she discovered she was pregnant to Jamal. Juliayn spent some time helping rebuild the damaged hold but felt she wasn't needed. The father and mother-in-law had survived and their second eldest son was now the heir. So Juliayn looked around for a new home and a new challenge, still hiding from most that she was pregnant. Hearing that Black Rock Hold needed a new Lady Holder she jumped at the chance to get down there and as far away from the bad memories as possible. SHe hears that the Hold will be a challange for they have bandits and holdless preying on their borders and on surrounding halls and cot holds. 
    


Pet Descriptions: Rocky is a medium sized long haired black and white dog (think like a border collie). He's very smart and has been trained to be Juliayn's guard dog as well as her companion. He was a gift to Juliayn from her brother who thought she needed a companion and a protecter in her lonely days with her husband. In terms of personality Rocky is a patient, steady canine. Smart and loyal he is Juliayn's shadow. He can usually sense when she's having a bad day and he sticks closer on these days.
