Name: Tyria
Age: 27
Residence: Black Rock Hold - Healer Hall

Craft: Healer
Craft Rank: Senior Journeywoman

Brief Description of Persona:
  • Standing at the height of 5'8, Tyria is slender and beautiful. Her face is slightly feminine, with small nose contrasting with large lips and a well-defined jawline. Her fingers, long and deft, are toughened by work. Blonde hair that waves down to her waist complement her fair skin and contrast with her dark brown eyes.

  • Soft, sensitive, and emotional, Tyria is idealistic. Her belief that all people are inherently kind and good causes her to keep getting disappointed, as well as leaving her vulnerable to manipulation. Not too many can live up to her high standards.

  • Tyria is reluctant to enter in a relationship, as people have fallen in love with her image and not her. She does desire an honest and caring relationship. As a mate, she would be caring, compassinate, gentle, and sensitive, though the demands of her craft might bring her away unexpectedly.

  • To her patients she is a sensitive healer. Tyria keenly feels suffering, whether physical or mental or emotional, and wants to cure those problems. She is very patient and will put up with whatever her patients want to throw at her, staying as long as they need her. She will take a hard line when needed, especially if they're doing self-destructive behavior, but rebukes from her are gentle and firm.

    Brief History of Persona:
  • From an early age Tyria was marked as a survivor. She was born to Tyrel and Theria, minor holders running a little hold by a productive mine in the Northern Barrier mountains above Crom. She lived a normal holder-girl life until around 13 Turns old, when a mine collapsed. Everyone in the Hold went to help, including Tyria. She had been helping pull people out of the mines when, struck by a sudden urge and seeing a watch-wher begin to stress, she grabbed the person she'd been rescuing and dragged him from the mines. As she put him to the healer's camp and turned to go back, the mine suffered another cave in. Almost everyone died.

  • Tyria went to salvage who she could, but there wasn't much one lone girl could do against rock and stone. Instead she went back to where the healers and injured were and helped out. There had been two injured people, on who died that day and one who lasted a month before dying, plus one healer who sickened and died less than a sevenday after, and others like Tyria who'd not been in the mines for either cavein. But soon they were all gone, and only Tyria remained.

  • Alone and frightened she remained, eking out a living from the frozen ground and the stores that remained to her. After several months a Harper was sent via dragon (for it was hard to get runners through the mountains) to see what had happened. They found Tyria. Taking her back to High Reaches Weyr, they let the girl do what she might.

  • Having seen the others die and been unable to do anything, Tyria chose to learn healing under the Weyrhealer. She picked up quickly, and devoted herself completely to healing. In that way she continued her life.

  • When Thread started falling, Tyria got a whole new outlook on life. The damage it caused was much worse than the normal accidents that riding seemed to bring. Rededicating herself to her craft, she vowed to heal all, hurt none again. When a new place in the South opened, Tyria knew she would do great good there, so she applied for transfer.

E-mail LokiJenn if you'd like, I'm sure she'd love to hear from you!
