Brief Description of Persona:

F'ren is about average height standing at 5'8 and he's slender, rangy even. He tends to look like he needs to gain weight and is the type of guy that tends to keep saying he needs to gain weight. His looks aren't bad, he has the kind of cute boy next door kind of looks complete with shy smile and long eyelashes. His eyes are almond   shaped and a clear light brown. He is slightly short sighted so he tends to squint a bit. His hair is a wavy light brown with a few lighter bleached streaks in it and tends to just brush the nape of his neck and get into his eyes. He tends to have a habit of always brushing his hair out of his eyes and off his face. His skin is fair and tends to burn in the sun. He tends to have quite good taste in clothing, knowing what flatters him and goes well with the situation. He also plays the gitar and harp quite well and has a pleasant tenor for a voice.

F'ren is generally a quiet, mellow sort of person. He tends to be friendly enough and even has quite a dry sense of humour but he's quite shy, really a gentle person. One could call him a bit of a gentlemen as he's always soft spoken and courteous to everybody, rarely ever does he loose his mellow, patient outlook. Over the turns his dragon's influence and life have toughened him up in part and  helped him relax. He's also gained quite a sharp tongue when it suits him.

F'ren is an amazingly patient guy and is very tactful. He tends to know by instinct just what to say and what not to in any situation. You could call him rather diplomatic in that respect and he's a really good teacher. Although he might come across as a bit of a sissy he does have a quiet strength and determination. Quiet and gentle though he might be, a push over he is not, he does know when to stand up for himself or others. Amazingly intelligent and fond of reading, one can usually find him reading up on things in dusty records, he prefers to fight all battles with words and intellect instead of fists. He also enjoys strategy type games and gets a lot of enjoyment out of battles of wits. He also enjoys taking part in any musical endeavor taking pleasure in his musical skills. IF he has a real upside it's his patient and mellow personality. He also remains remarkably clear headed and calm in   times of crises. If he has downsides it’s that he is an incredibly trusting sort of person and is rather naive about people and life thanks to his sheltered background. And his soft, gentle nature can be problematic in that life tends to knock him hard. He's learned to cope with what life does to him by developing a sharp tongue and even sharper wits.

Brief Description of History:
F'ren was born Farren to a Journeyman Harper and a Journeywoman Weaver. The last child out of four and the only boy he was spoiled, sheltered and doted on. In any other child this would have caused him to become something of a spoilted, nasty brat. But not Farren; his gentle nature meant that he didn't mind the attention, but the sensible, intelligent side didnt allow him it to go to his head too much. Farren was always an unusual child in that he preferred to be around his sisters and mother while they sewed and weaved in the family weaving room. He liked the comfort of being around them and   listening to them working as the laughed, gossiped and sung. If not with the female half of his family he followed his father around enjoying music and the chance to exchange wits with his father.

While Ferren tended to get teased by the other boys and picked on from time to time, he gradually learned to defened himself not so much with fists but with clever insults and his wits. When he was 12 Ferren at his parent's bidding decided to apprentice himself to the harper craft. While he enjoyed his mother's craft he was much more interested in the harpers. Delighted his son wanted to follow in his footsteps Ferren's father gladly encouraged him and he was accepted. Ferren started out with a fairly good boy soprano but when his voice broke it mellowed and matured into a good tenor. While his voice was good it wasn't star quality, so while he still stuck to his voice work he turned more to playing and to teaching.

When he was 15 two things happened, one his parents gifted him   with a flit egg as a present and one of his sisters was chosen by Search dragons to come stand at the Weyr. She Impressed successfully to their delight, a dragonrider in the family was always a good thing to have. Ferren's egg hatched to reveal quite a large brown flit he dubbed Cloud for his interesting coloring. Ferran missed his sister for she was his best friend and the pair were close in an already close family. A turn after that a tragedy occurred in that his mother died after having miscarried a baby. Her loss rocked the whole family and Ferren's father in particular was never quite the same jolly man he was before her death.

As a senior apprentice Ferran continued with his studies despite the loss of his mother and the distance of his best friend. A shortage in teachers meant that Ferran was often called upon to help teach the youngest juniour apprentices and he found he had a talent for teaching. Thinking this is where he would like to go he began taking more   classes in this direction.

But he never got to specialize and graduate for just before his 17th birthday Search Dragons from Dawning Light Weyr came on Search and he was one of the chosen Candidates. To his surprise he found himself now a Candidate and facing the pale green gaze of his new lifemate. Life as a Weyrling and now a member of a Weyr was a bit of a shock for the sheltered 16 turn old but he learned to adjust. Terisath and F'ren's progress through Weyrlinghood was a steady, slow process. Initially F'ren had some problems butchering carcasses for his new lifemate, for someone of his gentle nature such a thing was hard to take. He also didn't take so well to Terisath's first kill and it took him even longer to adjust to the fact that his dearest Terisath killed her own food.

Even today F'ren has a little trouble with his lifemate killing but he does his best not to react to it. His period of Weyrlinghood also introduced him to his best friend and first love: G'ry,   a bluerider. After graduation the pair decided to become Weyrmates and when G'ry's Tanth caught Terisath they made it official.

Life for F'ren continued slowly over the turns, he had his weyrmate, his dragon, his small circle of friends. He also went back to study under the Weyrharper and gain his junior journeyman knots. In his spare time he helped out teaching classes to apprentices and to weyrbrats. He also leaned his fairly good musical talents to the odd Weyr gathering celebration something he enjoyed immensely. But tragedy struck when F'ren's weyrmate and his dragon were killed during Threadfall.

Their loss was very hard on the heartbroken and devestated F'ren. Knowing her brother was struggling, Leri F'ren's sister invited him to come and stay with her. She convinced him a transfer to Coral Reef might be a good idea so he could get away from all the memories and he agreed.

Description of Dragon:

  • Terisath is a average sized green and like her rider is slender   and lean. Her colour is a pale leaf green with dark green shading to the trailing edges of her wings. Personality wise Terisath is a fairly mellow, easy going green most of the time. But unlike her rider Teriseth is a talker and opinated to a fault. She's also fairly sharp tongued, haughty and even scatching at times. However shes unusually patient with her lifemate when with anybody else she's impatient and grumpy. F'ren's influence has made her a more tolerant and gentle dragon and age has mellowed her out a bit too.

    Description of Pet:
Cloud is quite a large brown flit and he's fairly muscular. His colour is unusual in that it's a mixture of pale milky brown, light brown and klah brown swirled together in random patterns. His personality is rather easy going, even lazy. A very social flit he'll allow anybody to touch him and he's a friend for life if somebody feeds him .   Attached NPCs:
