Brief Description of Persona:

Leriko is tall, about 5'8 and 62 kgs, she is whip cord lean with gently stooped shoulders and a long stride. For her age she still has alot of energy and is fit from her years as a dragonrider. Leriko has short, curly blonde hair with a few white streaks creeping in to it. She is more handsome then pretty, with a round face, high cheekbones, a hawk like nose, high forehead and wide spaced hazel eyes. Her skin is tanned and a little weathered from her years in Igen Weyr, she has little lines at the edges of her eyes, mouth and forehead. But she is still a handsome woman for her age. Her face and body language are highly expressive of her feelings and thoughts.

Leriko has a great singing voice, a token from her former live as a Harper Singer, which she loves to contribute whenever singing is taking place. She dresses casually, but comfortably, but tends to wear shades of green, her favorite colour.

Leriko is a good natured, friendly woman. She loves children, animals and just enjoying life. She is a very get up and go sort of person. She is practical and has a keen sense of humour. But she can also be a hard task master, when she has set herself a task she is dedicated to it 100% and demanding of herself and those involved in the tasks. She takes no nonsense and doesn't hesitate to speak her mind or lecture somebody if they aren't doing the job right.

She is a good listener and tends to be very maternal towards her loved ones and friends. She is fair and honest, never taking things for granted. She does however not approve of lazy people, those that whine and those stuck in self-pity. As far as she is concerned life is short, get on with it. She is very fond of singing, spending time with her children and swimming

Brief History:

Leriko was the second youngest child out of four. She was the only girl with the rest of her siblings being boys. Her parents Keres and Heasin were owners of a small Hold on the Keroon Peninsula well known for producing and raising Runners. As the only girl she was her mother's favorite and grew up a tomboy as she was always following her brothers around and taking part in the activities they took part in. She grew up a highly competitive and confident young girl. At eight turns of age Leriko's parents realised that their only daughter was turning into a hoyden and a tomboy sent her to be fostered with Bessi, Keres's sister. Bessi was a widow with four chidlren, all girls. parents thought that by sending her to a more feminine household she might learn how to be more of a lady, as benefited her station in life. So off she went to be fostered out to Bessi.

Bessi realising that her foster child and niece had a real talent with her voice encouraged her to apply to the Harper Hall as an Apprentice when she was thirteen turns. Leriko had never really thought of applying to the Harpers, her voice to her was just a hobby. But she was not a child who missed opportunities and so she applied to the Harper Hall as a Singer. With formal Harper training, some natural skill and talent her voice blossomed into something that toted to become the next big female voice in Pern. At eighteen turns Leriko was about to walk the tables to become a Journeyman when she was Searched as a Candadate for an Igen Weyr Hatching. It was there that she Impressed her Verresnth.

Verresnth and Leriko progressed through their Weyrling turns without much trouble, although the occasional bout of mischief had them facing the Weyrling Master. Several times during their lives the pair served as Search Riders and as Assistants to the Weyrling Master . It was during a stint as a Weyrling Assistant that Leriko meet her weyrmate, P'tr. During this particular stint of her life the pair ended up Weyr mates and produced a two twin children, a boy, Esthan and a girl, Dresha. Both children were fostered out at the Weyr and both mpressed a brown and green respectively. But the plague took the life of P'tr when Leriko was forty two turns and his dragon Migerth went /between/. Although both rider and dragon were devastated at the loss of their weyrmates, they got on with their lives as best they could. After a visit to the weyr mind healer, Leriko realised she was not getting over her weyrmate's death as well as she should and she knew that Veressnth was not healing well either. So she applied for transfers to several weyrs. When she heard that there was a Weyrling Assistant position open at one of the Coral Reef Weyr she applied for it. She knew the experience would be a painful one, but she thought that they both needed a challenge and a change of surroundings. When she was accepted, Leriko backed herself and Verresnth's belongings, said good-bye to her children and friends and left the weyr to take up her place at her new home.

Brief Description of Dragon:

Verresnth is quite a large green dragon with a wide wing span and a narrow triangular face. She is long and lean like her rider, but strong and versatile in the air. She is a very dark forest green shade of dragon with lighter shading on her wings and back, giving her an almost dapple look. She has a few scars on her tail, wings and left hind leg, but they are minor. Like her rider Verresnth is very maternal towards her rider, dragons and children. She thinks very highly of herself and her rider. She is a very calm, gentle dragon with a kindly, but naive view of life. Verresnth and her Leriko often help out the Healers and Dragonhealers because both have a knack for calming and soothing distressed and wounded riders and dragons. However like her rider if she is given a task she dedicates herself to it and won't give up until she has completed it.
