Miaka stands at a height of 5' 2" and weighs a light 120 lbs. She has green eyes and pale brown hair and with light tan skin. Her frame and features a lean and almost wispy,save the hidden strength her small body hides from turns of riding Kananth.
Personality wise, Miaka is very strong natured and tenacious. She's survived through too much to be the type to keep on trying even when the odds are against her and has left her with somewhat of a scrappy and tough attitude.? She's not mean or cruel, but when she knows something needs to be done, she doesn't stop till it is so.? She is, however, a very kind and gentle person and very affectionate to those around her.? As a leader and fellow rider, she tries to fairly listen to all sides off issues brought before her and does her best to maintain that. Stubbornly so.
Brief Description of History:
Born on the Northern continent, Miaka grew up as a minor holders daughter and was able to enjoy a relatively calm childhood on up till her tenth turn when bandits attacked her parents holding and killed almost everyone there, save for Miaka and her younger sister, Mia, who were saved by a passing band of mercenaries who chased off the bandits and helped the the sisters. The band of mercenaries after the girls joined them decided it would be better for to take the girls to a nearby weryhold than to let them wander around or travel with the band. It was there, that Miaka and Mia had their first meeting with dragons and their riders. As new weyr brats, the two could do nothing but stare in stark amazement at the small gathering of dragons that lived at the weyrhold and lived their contently till Miaka's 16th turn and Mia's 14th when a blue rider from Ista Weyr landed at the Weyrhold and searched Mia and Miaka for Ista. A queen's egg lay on the sands.
The day of the hatching was a tense one for both girls as they stood, watching and waiting for the young queen to hatch. The egg would rock, but before the queen hatched, a young green stumbled over to Mia and she became impressed to green Sanath. Seeing that Mia had impressed, Miaka waited, hoping and sending every possible thought of encouragement to the young queen inside the egg to please choose her. Finally a crack appeared on the egg and with a deafening crack, the egg split to reveal the young queen. She searched through the girls hoping to catch her attention, knocking several over before she came to a stop before Miaka, }: I'm here, stop calling to me! I'm Kananth, Miaka. I'm here and I'm yours, but I'm terribly hungry.:{
Turns passed, Kananth grew and Miaka and Mia would have lived their lives contently till the return of thread. Miaka and Kananth were among the first to ride with Ista's riders against the returned menace, and has fought alongside her Weyr and former holding against Pern's menace. But the fond memories of life in a Weyrhold has decided her to accept the post in a Southern Weyrhold with Mia coming along with her.
Description of Dragon:
Kananth, as far as queens go, is a small gold. She's small and elegantly built, her golden hide a handsome shade of Rosy gold and lighter yellowish gold under her wings. While she is small in body, she's gifted with speed, maneuverability and long wings and a utter devotion to the motion of flying that make up for her small size. Non-dragonriders have been known to chuckle when they first see her, but after seeing her and Miaka fly, they often forget they ever laughed. She's a wild catch for pursuing bronzes and browns and can last in a fairly long mating flight, her acrobatics and speed used to wear out her suitors. The ones that can outlast her acrobatics are worthy of her and she will impishly boost, truth or not that the only reason they caught her was because she was tired and bored.
She echoes in her riders tenacious and stubborn personality, coupled with her mellowness and is a fairly approachable queen, but she does have her snippy moments along with her flirty and calm ones and can be a cause of mischief when no one is looking. She however, is a little more reserved in her opinions unlike her rider, though she follows them through with the same tenacity Miaka follows her own.
