Brief Description of Persona:
Standing fairly tall at 5’11’’, C’say is a heavily-muscled, powerfully-built man, weighing in at 205 lbs. His dark green eyes are stern, but have a friendliness to them that gives others the confidence to speak to him candidly. His tightly-curled, reddish-brown hair is cropped very short, for the sake of comfort under his flying helmet, and his face is dignified, with a refined nose and smooth skin, giving him a Roman look. A small Threadscore scar mars his left shoulder, received during the first fall he flew in a fighting wing, and remains unseen as he usually covers it with long-sleeved tunic.
His arms and legs are heavily muscled, and he has a surprisingly good bass singing voice. His sense of dress is limited to what is utilitarian, and he has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of off-white tunics and brown leather pants. Even his flying wear is basic, with a simple leather jacket, leather pants, boots, and helmet. He has only one or two fine tunics for feasts and Hatchings, and uses them only as necessary to spare himself the trouble of getting fitted for another one.
C’say is a quiet young man, and has a solemnity about him that seems to belong to a much older person. When he was younger, he and his friend F’vel were the terrors of the weyr, often leaving the lower caverns ringing with their laughter and shouts. However, his childhood happiness soon turned to depression as he grew older, the result of knowing that his parents cared little for his welfare and were far too busy with their own lives to pay him any heed as he was fostered. A hint of that depression still lingers in his eyes to this day, though the constant presence of his lifemate is the balm to heal his hurt. He’s actually quite gentle, especially with children, believing that they should have the love and attention he was never given. His Impression of Muth gave him the steadiness he needed to come out of his depression, and he takes quiet joy in the antics of his three fire-lizards.
Brief History of Persona:
Born under the name Caysay to a greenrider and a bronzerider as the result of the green’s mating flight, C’say spent his childhood fostered to one of the many foster mothers in Blue Moons Weyrhold (SWE). He spent the majority of his childhood being a weyrbrat with his best friend Farvel, now known as F’vel, though he became depressed by his parents’ lack of involvement in his life in his pre-adolescent years.
At age 14, he decided to stand on the Hatching Grounds, Farvel by his side, where he Impressed brown Muth. His Impression served to heal the wounds his parents had unconsciously inflicted. C’say and Muth flew their first fall as part of a fighting wing approximately two Turns later. At age 20, his Muth flew greenrider Sonali’s Traltath in a mating flight, and C’say was overjoyed two months later to find that Sonali was pregnant. However, both Sonali and the child died during the birth, leaving C’say heartbroken and depressed.
Now, C’say devotes himself wholly to fighting Threadfall, and has taken an interest in some of the children of the weyr. Unbeknownst to the foster mothers, he will sometimes spend time making simple wood toys for the children and give them out to their appreciative recipients. His Impression of his fire-lizards has given C’say a readier smile and a gentle kindness is dealing with the children of the weyr.
Description of Dragon:
Muth, an average-sized brown dragon, the color of dark klah bark, is much more open about his like of children and fun than his rider is. Muth is forever thinking up something cheerful to say to his rider, and smugly says, albeit jokingly, that C’say’s fire-lizards like him better than his rider. Muth loves Zeno, Dapple, and Zuna, and fancies them to be his children, which, with his rider, makes them a family. The brown dragon always lets the three snooze on his head in the hot sunlight, and likes to let them scratch his eye ridges when C’say is not available to do so.
Description of Pets:
Zeno is a bright colored bronze, though his head and wingtips are slightly darker than the rest of him, and he has a surprisingly submissive personality for a bronze. He has an affinity for tearing out the stuffing of C’say’s pillows. Dapple is a dark, almost navy, blue with bands of powder-blue on his wings and necks. He will almost always do what he sees Zeno doing, and is equally submissive. Zuna, Dapple’s clutchmate, is the bossy little princess of the group, forever scolding Zeno and Dapple. She’s a very dark green with a tint of yellow on her muzzle and underbelly, and prefers to spend her time making mincemeat of a heavy wooden toy that C’say made for her, to keep her from chewing on his chair.
