His facial features can only be called rugged. His hawk like nose is crooked having been broken twice and his chin is narrow, with broad cheekbones, thin lips and a high forehead. He also has a thin white scar on his forehead. His skin is tanned to a nice bronze shade from his love of the outdoors and his eyes are probably his best feature being a deep sapphire blue. His hair is generally considered to be too long, as it just reaches his shoulder blades when it's loose and is a solid chocolate brown.

The most startling things about Elian are his smile, his voice and his laugh. Usually common sights, they never the less surprise people. His smile is one that lights up his eyes and face and is always shy, only a slight up turn of his lips and a flash of white teeth. His laugh can usually be heard for miles and is heard often. For a guy of his size and build you would expect a baritone, but his voice is a smooth tenor with perfect pitch.

He has a lively sense of humour and is surpisingly, despite his looks a gentle giant. He is amazingly patient and very intelligent. He tends to love children, although he doesn't have any of his own, he generally sees all his apprentices and journeymen as his children. He has a talented voice and can play just about every instrument on Pern. He is extremly dedicated to not just developing his own potential, but the potential of others. One thing he really hates is to see good talent being wasted and under utilised.

On the downside Elian is really shy and takes a while to warm up to strangers. Because of his gentle nature and willigness to help and devote hours of his time listening, teaching or helping somebody out he can be taken for granted and used. He knows this about himself and it has created a sarcastic, ironic streak.

Brief History of Persona:

So it was rather strange that Elian didn't follow the family profession into either mining or metalsmithing. All three of his older brothers were already Apprenticed or approaching Journeyman ranks in metalsmithing or mining. Instead he followed his interest in teaching and music and asked to apprentice at the harper hall at Sandstone River Hold. Surprised but happy to let their son follow his dreams he was accepted in at 12 turns.

Elian's intelligece and skill for picking up things quickly allowed him to excell at learning to play every instrument availible. Although he could play all instruments by the time he was a Senior Apprentice he never lost his love for the gitar and to this day is still is preferred and favoured instrument. His boy soprano eventually broke and settled into a smooth, silky tenor that allowed him some fame across Pern.

In due course Elian walked the tables to Journeyman rank and following his love of teaching, he was particuarly fond of teaching music which is what he focused on and spent most of his Journeyman turns travelling throughout Pern stopping at holds and weyrs to teach music and play along the way. His name, voice and skill with instruments was known to some extent around Pern from his apprentice turns. It wasn't until he started his travels that his name became very popular and well known. To see Elian show up on your door step with his gitar, bags of sheet music and his voice was something of a blessing and an honour. He spent the last few turns of his journeymen turns staying at Dawning Light Weyr as his sister Impressed and staying in the post of weyr harper.

On encouragment from his sister, his few close friends and following his own restlessness he went back to Sandstone River Hold's Harper Hall to get his Master's rank. THe hallmaster at the Harper Hall was very surprised that Elian hadn't come back to do it turns before.

To get his Master rank Elian devised a musical, based on his sister's life, Impression and life in the weyr. He wrote all the music himself, assigned all the singing parts, doing the main tenor role himself, and played the main gitar parts. His musical was a raging success and he gained his Master rank. As a gift, his hallmaster gave him two firelizard eggs to celebrate his achievement.

Deciding to do something rarely done before, again following another bout of restlesness, Elian packed up his crew and cast and took his musical around Pern. After two turns travelling Elian returned to Sandstone River Hold and the Harper Hall to take up a new challenge. Hallmaster of the Harperhall which he was granted. Now all Elian has to do is get used to the job and staying in one place.

Brief Description of Pet:

Talon is a large sized brown flit and very slender. The colour of his side is a creamy light brown with swirls of darker, chocolate brown. His personality is calmer and quietier then Trill. He is also very sweet and loyal, rarely leaving Elian's shoulder.
