Brief Description of Persona:

  • Physical M'ther stands about 6'0 in height and is a solid mass throughout. He's not total muscle, but enough to classify him as physically fit. Appealingly attractive to most, though few know about his disability. He has short black hair, that's usally kept buzzed quite short to his head and sky blue eyes. His eyes seem so light, people call them 'baby blue' or 'clear blue'. They look attractive to look at from far away, but seem rather eerie when viewed up close. The reason for their odd coloring - is because M'ther is blind.

  • Emotionally, M'ther is stable; but has reasonable doubt since he lost his sight a little under five Turns ago. He can seem bitter about his loss, but, other times he's in the best of moods like he doesn't care about that happened to his eyes.

    Brief History of Persona:
  • Born and raised at Sandstone River Hold as a Seacrafter's son, Mather grew up through hard times and good. His father was a seaman and his mother helped out at the hold with the supply of fish. He grew up, able to see - but it wouldn't last for long. He hit his teens and was Searched for Star Lake Weyr as a candidate. He was moved into the candidate barracks and continued his hard work for candidate duty. He didn't seem to mind much, but he didn't like latrine duty that well.

  • He Impressed brown Dreth at the Hatching and was put through weyrlinghood. That seemed to breeze by quickly and he was promoted to dragonrider in the Silver Wing. He awaited the day to fly thread, but, to his dismay, that day would never come.

  • He was diagnosed with firehead when he turned twenty; and was quickly bedridden for many sevendays. They wrapped his head and eyes with cold rags and cloth to tone down the sickness, but it was too late. When he showed signs of recovery, they unwrapped his eyes and face - but his sight was gone. Firehead had taken his sight, as well as a good piece of his pride.

  • He didn't accept the fact that he was blind for the rest of his life very well. He tryed to to leave the Weyr for good, changing his attitude to total bitterness, but nothing seemed to ease the pain. M'ther was given a dog, by the name of Salim, to help guide him throughout the Weyr. The Weyrleader and Weyrwoman decided they'd put him in the Queen's wing; never to fly thread. He took the news hard, but adjusted over time.

  • It took him roughly five turns to totaly adjust to his new life. Though his eyesight was taken, it didn't mean the rest of his dignity had to go with it. He's learned to accept the challenges given to him and to live life to it's fullest. And that's exactly what he's doing.

    Description of Dragon:
  • Dreth is an averaged sized brown. His hide is well kept - shining a proud creamy brown which reflects yellow tones in the sunlight. His eyes are usually kept at a light blue hue, but change colors depending on his lifemate's current mood. Dreth is a optimistic brown throughout his rider's depression and sadness. He's always cracking jokes to make M'ther feel better and is friendly to all dragons and colors.

    Description of Pet:
  • Salim is a meduim sized pure white mutt. He's kept clean and in good condition, so people know he's working with M'ther. He's quite noticable and is well known for leading M'ther around the Weyr; so people know when he's coming. He acts as a caution sign: "Warning - Blind person approaching", which is a good thing. He's a friendly canine and has always been known as that.
